The Noble Fir

The Noble Fir is native to western North America, found across several states, and sitting in a position of little concern for environmentalists. This tree’s success is thanks to many factors, though the rich and fertile land it calls home is certainly a big part of this.

These trees can be found in all sorts of shapes and sizes, with most of the examples people have in their homes at Christmas being less than a couple of meters tall. In the wild, though, they are able to get much larger, reaching over 70m in the hundred or so years they will be alive. Once they reach full size, their trunks can be well over 2 meters in diameter, and this is staggering when you consider that most people wouldn’t have a tree as tall as this.

Being an evergreen, you won’t have to worry about a tree like this losing its needles until it dies. They will be a rich green, and pine cones can often be found dotted around amongst them, creating natural decorations which look great when they first start to emerge.
